Meeting focus: RFF Cohort Monthly Calendar

Aala walked through the cohort Slack workspace. Please join the Slack if you haven’t already (the link to join is in a previous mega email from Aala). We recommend exploring this quick-start guide to learn how to use Slack.
There was a suggestion to have two separate channels to make sure messages sharing important announcements from the RFF team are not lost. Aala will create these shortly:
#rff_announcements: Important updates and announcements from the RFF team
#all_rff_cohort: Space for the cohort to build connections, share news and events etc.
Aala talked through the RFF Cohort Monthly Calendar, showing events and important dates to keep in mind. No sessions are mandatory but we strongly encourage you to join sessions that are pink on the calendar.
The calendar is colour-coded:
Blue | In-person [opt-in]: These include drop-in support sessions with Aala at Edinburgh Futures Institute (EFI).
Pink | In-person [encouraged]: We strongly encourage you to join these sessions.
Orange | Info-session: Where we share important updates on the fund on specific topics in detail.
Green | Proposal: Where we provide guidance to support you to write your proposal.
Purple | Homework: Deadlines for work we ask you to do.
Yellow | Info shared: Dates on which we will share important information with you - this will always be sent over email.
Events coming up include:
Drop-in Support Space sessions in person at EFI with Aala on Fri 19th and Fri 26th September, 11am-4pm.
Corporate Partners in-person session on Fri 10th October: Space for the cohort to come together and decide on which type of corporate funders the cohort does or does not want to take funding from (e.g. gambling, anti-zionist). We will soon ask you to RSVP.
Three Horizons in-person session on Fri 24th October: We will walk you through a systems change mapping exercise which we ask you to submit as part of your proposal. We will soon ask you to RSVP.
Cohort call recordings will not be shared moving forward, but we will share meeting minutes like this.
